About Dr. Meyers

Dr. Sandra Meyers is an Associate Professor and a member of the La Jolla Medical Physics Team. She is the Assistant Vice-Chair for Physics & Technology Research, Associate Division Director of Research, and Director of the Center for Quality, Innovation, Value and Efficiency in Radiotherapy (QUIVER). Dr. Meyers serves as the Lung Technology Section Chief.

She is a research-focused physicist with an interest in applying Knowledge-Based Planning (KBP) techniques to patients undergoing intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy. She is a recipient of a recent NCI K-08 Award focused on KBP in cervical cancer patients undergoing brachytherapy.

Dr. Meyers is the Secretary of the Women in Health Sciences Committee and a member of multiple Department Committees, including the Social Planning and Outreach Committee and Research Committee. Nationally, she is a member of several American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Committees, such as the Treatment Delivery Subcommittee and Women's Professional Subcommittee. She is also an Associate Section Editor for the journal of Practical Radiation Oncology.
