Dr. Sandra Meyers
Dr. Meyers’ lab focuses on the use of AI for improving and automating aspects of radiation treatment. One major effort is the development and implementation of a fully-automated (knowledge-based) planning approach in patients undergoing brachytherapy, particularly in women with cervical cancer. Her work is complementary to that of other RMAS researchers who are focused on developing and clinically implementing automated planning in patients treated with intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) and conventional 3D conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT).
Support
Dr. Meyers’ research is supported in part by a 5-year, $1.2M K08 grant from the National Cancer Institute of the National Institute of Health.
