Department Radiation Oncologists offer clinics at multiple locations throughout San Diego and beyond.  Below is a list and description of our Radiation Oncology facilities.

La Jolla

On UC San Diego Health’s La Jolla campus, Radiation Oncology care is centered at the Radiation Oncology Patient Care Center (ROPCC) (“Lighthouse Clinic”) and Moores Cancer Center (“Sunrise Clinic”), where consultations, follow-ups, simulation, and treatments are delivered on four state-of-the-art linear accelerators (linacs) (2 Varian True Beams, 1 Halcyon, 1 Ethos). Several Multi-Disciplinary Clinics are located in other clinics including the Multi-Disciplinary Prostate Cancer Clinic (Koman Outpatient Pavilion) and the Lung Cancer Multi-Disciplinary Clinic (Special brachytherapy procedures are performed in the Jacobs Medical Center (Gamma Tile for brain tumors) and the Shiley Eye Institute (Plaque brachytherapy for choroidal melanoma).  Wherever you’re seen, our teams work side-by-side to streamline scheduling, records, and follow-up—so your care is coordinated, convenient, and personalized.

Encinitas

Our Encinitas Radiation Oncology clinic offers convenient, expert care close to home in North Coastal County. The center features a single linear accelerator (linac) capable of delivering treatments including image-guided IMRT/VMAT and SBRT. Patients see the same UC San Diego physicians and care team who coordinate seamlessly with our main campus in La Jolla. The clinic is easy to access, with friendly staff, straightforward parking, and scheduling designed to minimize time away from work and family.

Our 4S Ranch Radiation Oncology clinic brings UC San Diego’s advanced cancer care to the North Inland County. The center is located together with the cCARE Medical Oncology Center and delivers precise, image-guided treatments—including IMRT/VMAT and SBRT. You’ll see UC San Diego Radiation Oncologists, with seamless coordination to our main campus. South Bay

Our South Bay Radiation Oncology center delivers UC San Diego’s advanced care close to home for Eastlake, Chula Vista and surrounding communities. With two linear accelerators (linacs), we offer precise, image-guided treatments—including IMRT/VMAT and SBRT—and techniques like breath-hold for select left-sided breast cancers to help reduce heart dose. You’ll see UC San Diego Radiation Oncologist who work closely with physicians on our main campuses in La Jolla and Hillcrest. Proton Therapy Center

Our California Proton Therapy Center—an affiliate of the UC San Diego Health Cancer Network—offers state-of-the-art proton therapy that precisely targets tumors while reducing radiation to nearby healthy organs. This can be especially helpful for tumors of the brain and spine, head & neck, chest, and abdomen, and for children, where protecting growth and long-term health is critical. Patients are treated by UC San Diego radiation oncologists on site, with seamless coordination across our network for imaging, surgery, medical oncology, and supportive services. Families appreciate the free on-site parking, welcoming, child-friendly spaces (including a playroom), and dedicated pediatric anesthesia for little ones who need it—so care is precise, comfortable, and close to home.

Rancho Mirage

Our Rancho Mirage Radiation Oncology clinic—an affiliate of the UC San Diego Health Cancer Network—is within the Eisenhower Medical Center and brings university-level cancer care to the Coachella Valley, close to home. Patients receive precise, image-guided treatments (including IMRT/VMAT and, when appropriate, SBRT) with care plans developed in collaboration with UC San Diego radiation oncology specialists. Hillcrest

Our Hillcrest Radiation Oncology center—located in the McGrath Outpatient Building on the UCSD Hillcrest Medical Campus—brings advanced UC San Diego oncology care to central San Diego. The clinic features a single, modern linear accelerator (linac) for precise, image-guided treatments (including IMRT/VMAT and, when appropriate, SBRT) and a state-of-the-art brachytherapy suite with on-site anesthesia and a dedicated recovery unit for comfortable, same-day procedures. We treat both adults and children at Hillcrest; for pediatric visits, our team coordinates child-friendly workflows and anesthesia support when needed.
