About Dr. Lui
Dr. Asona Lui is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Radiation Oncology at UC San Diego Department of Radiation Medicine & Applied Sciences and a member of the Center for Precision Radiation Medicine (CPRM). She serves on the Breast Cancer and Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumor Disease Teams, and her clinical practice is based at the Moores Cancer Center.
Dr. Lui leads basic and translational research on the immunology of triple-negative breast cancer, emphasizing interferon signaling pathways that drive aggressive disease and contribute to endocrine resistance in ER-positive breast cancer. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Salk Institute’s NOMIS Center for Immunobiology and Microbial Pathogenesis in the lab of Dr. Daniel Hollern. A productively published author, she has contributed 20+ research articles in high-impact journals including Cancer Research, Cancer, and Breast Cancer Research
