About Dr. Roy
Dr. Souvick Roy is an Assistant Project Scientist in the Division of Applied Sciences and a member of the Center for Precision Radiation Medicine.
A member of Dr. Andrew Sharabi’s basic science laboratory, Dr. Dr. Roy’s work centers on understanding and overcoming therapeutic resistance in solid tumors, with a specific focus on head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and mechanisms of tumor-immune system interactions.
Dr. Roy has authored over 40 publications spanning cancer stem cell biology, molecular biomarkers, and immune-oncology. His scientific contributions include 1) Investigating β-catenin signaling in cisplatin resistance and recurrence of head and neck cancers, 2) Developing liquid biopsy-based biomarker tools—such as exosomal and cell-free DNA assays—for early detection, recurrence prediction, and therapy response monitoring in gastrointestinal and other malignancies and 3) Co-authoring recent studies on HPV-related immune suppression and oncoprotein structure, bringing together molecular biology with immunotherapy strategy.
