About Dr. Monev

Dr. Minev is an Associate Professor in the Division of Applied Sciences within the Department of Radiation Medicine & Applied Sciences (RMAS) and a member of the RMAS Center for Precision Radiation Medicine.

He is a high-impact physician-scientist with deep roots at UC San Diego, where he served for 15 years as Principal Investigator and Director of the Laboratory of Tumor Immunology and Immunotherapy at the Moores UCSD Cancer Center, leading breakthroughs in antigen discovery and cancer vaccine development.

Currently, he is President of Medical & Scientific Affairs (and Interim Chief Medical Officer since 2021) at Calidi Biotherapeutics, where he helms clinical and translational immuno-oncology, oncolytic virotherapy, and biomarker programs
