About Dr. Sanghvi

Dr. Sanghvi is a Professor and Vice Chair within the Division of Radiation Oncology in the Department of Radiation Medicine Sciences and Applied Sciences at UCSD. He has previously held multiple leadership roles within both the department and the Moores Cancer Center, reflecting his dedication to bringing state-of-the-art cancer care to San Diego and beyond.
Currently, Dr. Sanghvi serves as the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Director of the Learning Environment within the UCSD School of Medicine. In his clinical role, he is the Service Chief for Hematologic Malignancies in the Department of Radiation Oncology, overseeing the treatment and management of patients with hematologic cancers.
Dr. Sanghvi’s clinical practice focuses on the treatment of head and neck, cutaneous, hematologic malignancies, and benign CNS tumors. He utilizes advanced treatment techniques, including external beam radiotherapy, proton radiotherapy, and brachytherapy, to deliver personalized care for his patients.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Sanghvi is active in several national medical organizations. He serves as the Vice Chair of the Lymphoma/Leukemia Committee for the American Board of Radiology (ABR). He is also deeply involved in the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO), where he serves as the Chair of the Scholarship Committee.
Dr. Sanghvi is engaged with the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), where he serves on the Annual Education Committee, Government Relations Committee, and the Sexual and Gender Minority Committee, contributing to the development of educational content, policy advocacy, and inclusion efforts within the field.
Additionally, he has previously served as the Annual Scientific Committee Chair for Cutaneous Malignancies for the American Brachytherapy Society (ABS), leading efforts for multiple years to advance the scientific understanding and treatment of cutaneous cancers.
