About Dr. Rahn

Dr. Doug Rahn is an Associate Professor and serves as the Medical Director of our South Bay Treatment Facility. He is an active member of multiple disease teams including Head/Neck Cancers and CNS Tumors and is Co-Chair of the Standards & Guidelines Program helping set Department Standards for the treatment of all patients throughout our system.

He has expertise in a wide range of advanced radiotherapy approaches including intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and Cranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS). In addition, he has a large experience treating skin cancers with electronic brachytherapy. A dedicated and experienced clinician, he has been recognized as a Top Doctor by the San Diego Magazine.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Rahn serves on multiple committees within the UC San Diego Medical Center and School of Medicine, including the SOM Admissions Committee and the Medical Center Patient Safety Committee. He is also active in Resident and Medical Student Education, overseeing the monthly Resident Board’s Review Course and other lectures. He was named an Educator of the Year by the Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO).
