About Dr. Chang
Dr. Chang Chang is an Associate Professor, Associate Division Director of Proton Therapy and Director of Physics at the California Proton Therapy Center, an Affiliate of the UC San Diego Health Cancer Network. Dr. Chang also serves as the Pediatric Oncology Technology Service Chief.
A dedicated Proton Physicist, Dr. Chang oversees all technical aspects of the Proton Center including treatment planning and quality assurance as well as supervising the technical operations of the center. He also oversees the recruitment and mentorship of the medical physicists at the Proton Center. He has considerable experience in proton therapy, having worked at the ProCure Proton Therapy Center in Somerset New Jersey and later serving as the Director of Physics at the Texas Center for Proton Therapy in Irving Texas.
Dr. Chang oversees the clinical rotations of the UC San Diego Medical Physics Residents rotating at the Proton Center and is involved with the Medical Physics and Medical Residency Didactic Programs. He has published over 30 journal articles and book chapters focused on all aspects of proton therapy.
