About Dr. Marchant

Dr. Rebecca Marchant was born and raised in Washington, D.C., where she cultivated a lifelong passion for both medicine and athletics. She attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where she played Division I lacrosse while earning her degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience. After graduation, she returned to her hometown to work as a medical assistant in a pulmonary practice, an experience that deepened her commitment to patient care and solidified her decision to pursue a career in medicine.

Dr. Marchant went on to attend the University of Virginia School of Medicine (Go Hoos!), where she discovered her passion for radiation oncology. She was drawn to the field for its meaningful, longitudinal patient relationships, as well as its integration of cutting-edge technology and precision medicine. Her research thus far has focused on clinical comparative outcomes, brachytherapy, and circulating tumor cell analysis.

Outside of the clinic and research, Dr. Marchant enjoys running, playing tennis, watching college football, and exploring new restaurants with her fiancé.
