About Dr. Decker

Dr. Savannah Decker is a second-year medical physics resident at UC San Diego. She earned her PhD in Medical Physics from Dartmouth College, where her research focused on advancing the clinical utility of Cherenkov imaging for real-time dose monitoring during radiation therapy.
Moving from one corner of the U.S. to the other, Savannah was excited to begin residency and trade snow for sunshine. She was drawn to UC San Diego for its strong commitment to patient-centered care and enjoys being involved in the department’s direct patient care initiative, which has deepened her appreciation for the journey that cancer patients endure. Her current research focuses on improving surface guided imaging and motion management workflows.
Outside the clinic, Savannah takes full advantage of San Diego’s year-round outdoor lifestyle and can be found running, cycling, or surfing.
