UCSD Department of Radiation Oncology is dedicated to improving patient care through research, both clinical and technical. The guiding focus underlying all our research efforts is technology, both in the clinic and the laboratory. 

Center for Advanced Radiotherapy Technologies (CART)
To coordinate and foster our technology research efforts, the UCSD Center for Advanced Radiotherapy Technologies (CART) was founded in 2007 under the Directorship of Steve Jiang, Ph.D.
 
Clinical Research Programs
UCSD Department of Radiation Oncology is a member of all the major cancer cooperative groups including RTOG, CALGB, GOG, and COG, providing access to a wide variety of novel treatment approaches.
