Center for Advanced Radiotherapy Technologies (CART) is the technical research arm of the Department of Radiation Oncology at University of California San Diego.  We are committed to improving cancer radiotherapy through the development and application of advanced physics and engineering technologies. We achieve this goal by integrating research efforts from medical physicists, radiation oncologists, and engineers and scientists in relevant engineering and physical sciences fields, facilitating the translation of technology from laboratory to patient care, and designing and implementing clinical studies. The center is to provide a platform and infrastructure to promote strong collaboration among investigators from various disciplines and institutions as well as seamless translation of new technologies to routine clinical practice.
