Why do I receive two statements; one from UCSD Hospital and another statement from UCSD Physicians Group?
You may receive two statements if the services that are being provided contain both a professional fee and also a technical fee.

There’s a charge on my statement for a day when I didn’t see a physician.  What is this charge for?
There are a lot of things that take place behind the scenes without the patient having to be present.  The planning portion of your treatment, calculations, measurements to prepare for the patients treatment is all done by our physics staff and verified and checked by our physicians.  These services are an example of charges that may be billed without you, the patient actually having to be present.

If I am a cash patient do I have the option of paying for my services in payments?
Unfortunately if you do not have insurance coverage and will be paying cash for your services, full payment is required prior to the initiation of any treatment plan.

Why is the statement mailed to me when I don’t owe anything? 
This may happen for more than one reason.  You may receive a statement if we have not received payment from your insurance carrier.  You may also receive an itemized statement from your insurance carrier as a way of making you the consumer aware of what services are being billed by your medical provider.
